The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is one of the most enthralling rodeo events in the country. Taking place over a period of two months from mid-June to mid-August, this event is something you shouldn't miss if you love the rodeo.

  • Great fun for the whole family.
  • Two months of events mid-June to mid-August
  • Stop by the Romix Arena

Overview: The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is great fun for the whole family. There are tons of kids' events to keep your kids occupied for hours on end. One example is the Calf Scramble, where kids come together in the arena. The calf is let out of its pen as the children try to chase it and take the ribbon off its tail. Kids have a whole lot of fun with this particular event, but their families and the audience also enjoy it very much. The Ram Scramble is an event appropriate for kids under the age of five because gentle sheep are used rather than calves.

Where: 401 Howelsen Pkwy, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487

Fees: Ticket prices vary by age

Details: The rodeo has been a huge part of Steamboat Springs' culture for many years. It has been part of the town even before it was incorporated more than 100 years ago. The tradition has stayed alive in the 21st century.

It's not certain when the town first organized rodeo competitions, but competitive rodeo events have been mentioned in the local newspaper, the Steamboat Pilot, all the way back to 1898. A rodeo competition has always been part of the culture of this town.
