Summer in Steamboat Springs is chock full of events ranging from outdoor concerts to a rodeo, bike races, car shows, and hot air balloons (the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo is very popular).
Activities for the whole family
The Steamboat Springs Running Series is all about running, and a sense of community. It involves a number of difficult but exciting runs from 400 yards to 26 miles. The runs cross through some of the state's most beautiful terrain. Jog through snow, creeks, on top of rocks, up ski hills, and more. The runs are designed for many types of runners, so don't be afraid to come to this event. Race walkers are also welcome.
The annual Rio 24 Hours of Steamboat mountain bike race is another event. It has more than 80% single-track runs with a 2,000 vertical feet climb per lap. The track climbs Mt Werner through amazing scenery.
