Summer in Steamboat Springs is not only beautiful, it is also exciting!  The Howler alpine slide twists and turns down the terrain of its namesake, Howelsen Hill.  It also could have been named for the adrenaline inspired “yelps” and “woo hoos” that can be heard as riders slide down a 2400’ track!  Riding down an alpine slide is pure fun.  Whether it is your 1st or 50th ride on the slide, you will be smiling as the wind blows through your hair.

The alpine slide at Steamboat Springs is open every day during the summer and is a great activity choice for all ages.  Children ages 3-6 can ride with a parent or guardian, and older kids can test their courage as they try to go faster and faster down the hill!  A ride on the alpine slide can be a surprisingly romantic activity for a budding romance.  The alpine slide can help a mature couple remember how to have fun together!

The views from the top of Howelsen Hill offer a bird’s eye perspective of downtown Steamboat Springs.  If you look down, however, you will discover the delicate architecture of Colorado’s wildflowers.  The alpine slide is an activity not to miss!
