Horseback Riding
In a few short hours you can experience and embrace Steamboat's western mystique by riding horseback. Sit back and take in the majestic mountain beauty or hold on as you lope through Steamboats pristine open pastures. There are a number of stables and guest ranches that rent horses to the public. Many of them are located along the road from Steamboat Springs to Steamboat Lake. You may choose to ride independently or opt for a guided tour of the high country. Additionally, several outfitters offer cattle drives, pony rides, sunset dinner rides as well as breakfast and lunch rides. Ride anywhere from one hour to an overnight pack trip for as many as three nights.
