A vacation destination supreme, Steamboat offers a number of opportunities for some great tubing. Of course there are other winter sports activities you’ll love, but you must give the tubing a go!

The Rocky Mountains provide unique outdoor adventures, or weekend explorations. Right in the heart of these fabulous mountains sits Steamboat Springs, an Old West tradition strong. Also known as Ski Town, USA®, you’ll see why Steamboat has been a top choice in winter fun once you arrive. The views are spectacular, the scenery breathtaking, and the western hospitality serves to make you feel right at home.

Vacation Time Fun

Whether visiting on an extended vacation or just out for a weekend of recreation, snow tubing should be one of your top activities. Rather than take off on your own to find a hill for “lone” tubing, you should attend one of the facilities designed especially for the sport. This way you won’t even have to purchase your own tube, tie it to the top of your car and transport it from place to place.

Steamboat Springs has a few tubing facilities. And they make it easy to get started, whether you’re new or an old hand. You can ride a conveyer belt to the top of the hill and get your tube when you reach the top. Then you’ll come sliding down in an exhilarating ride. Another option is to get up the hill with a tube-towing system. Once you are at the top you can speed rapidly down the groomed hill with the cold winter air making your breath visible.

Some facilities will provide a slower lane for those not quite ready for the daring speeds you can reach on your tube. This makes the snow tubing experience a real pleasure no matter your skill level. All in all, this is a must-do for all ages. You can even go down the hill at night, since some tubing courses are lit for those major tubing enthusiasts.

Important facts to note:
