Yampa River Tubing

If you happen to be passing through Steamboat on a particularly warm summer day, do not miss an opportunity to dip into the Yampa River for a tubing session. Flowing south to north, the Yampa River parallels US Hwy 40 and Yampa Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs. The river eventually joins the Green River just a few miles east of the Utah boarder  and is the only major tributary of the Colorado that is still flowing freely and unhindered by dams.

Various outfitters both in and around Steamboat can set you up for a day of high adventure and a little relaxation on the Yampa. Their services include tube rentals, extensive and thorough information that is vital to your float as well as a shuttle service. Due to frequent afternoon rain showers, it is better to get an early start.  Tubing the Yampa is a fun way to burn a few hours in Steamboat Springs as long as you come prepared. Make sure you wear clothes that dry quickly: bathing suits, shorts, and some sort of footwear suitable for water.

AVA's Colorado Rafting - Trips on 5 rivers at 6 Outposts! Free wetsuits and splash jackets, DISCOUNTS available every day on our website.
