Proudly bearing the nickname "Ski Town USA," Steamboat Springs deserves its reputation, with nearly 30 feet of Champagne Powder providing a perfect base for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.

Overview

Steamboat Springs Resort is truly the skiing capital of the U.S. It's home to the famous champagne powder, as well as a world-class resort. Five mountain peaks stand above the Gondola Square, waiting to challenge the experts and cajole the beginners into a new love of the sport.

The Steamboat Mountain Range receives an annual average of 331 inches of powder that has 70% less moisture than normal, which mean skiers and snowboarders get the rare experience of floating on incredibly light snow, all the while surrounded by views of the beautiful Yampa Valley.

Location

From Denver, Steamboat is approximately 3 hours away, heading west on I-70 to Silverthorne. Turn north onto CO-9 until you reach Hwy 40, which leads west into Steamboat Springs.
