Because of this, most residents of Steamboat will tell you that they love where they live, and not necessarily they love what they do. It is easy to find a Steamboat Springs job, but you may have to stick around for a while to find or create your dream job.

The variety of work in the Steamboat Springs area is across the board. Tourism is one of the largest industries in the area driving businesses and jobs in the arts, entertainment, recreation, accommodation, and food services. The truth of the matter is that without the tourists, Steamboat Springs wouldn't be where it is today. Between outdoor summer recreation like hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, golfing, and fishing to winter activities like skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, and backcountry snow sports, it is common for residents with jobs in the tourism industry to have seasonal recreation work. If you like the freedom and flexibility of being able to transition from summer employment to winter employment, seasonal work is the way to go. Other tourism jobs in places like restaurants and hotels seem to hold onto their employees year-round.

Other employment industries in Steamboat Springs, Colorado include education, health and social services.
