The Little Snake River is located just north of Steamboat Lake near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This is a great spot if you want the opportunity to catch all four species of trout that are found in the area. It is also a great place to try out your fly fishing technique.

The area around Steamboat Springs, Colorado is renowned for its trout fishing. A wonderful little stream is located just north of Steamboat Lake and is known as the Little Snake River. There are wonderful opportunities here to catch any of the four separate species of trout which are located in the area.

If you like to hike or backpack, you can get to some of the less accessible spots on the river. There are other areas easily gotten to by car or four wheel drive rig. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the solitude of fishing or to introduce any or all of the family to the joys of the sport.

The Little Snake River is not considered to be navigable so it's best not to plan on doing any type of boating on its waters. However, the peace and scenery that can be found along its banks is well worth making it one of your destinations while in the Steamboat Springs area.
