Labor Day Wild West Air Fest
The Wild West Air Fest and Labor Day Weekend Celebration is probably the most exciting weekend in the town of Steamboat Springs. In addition to other events, the Wild West Air Fest is the newest part of the summer lineup for this Labor Day weekend tradition.
In Steamboat Springs there are many different events to enjoy in the summertime. The Wild West Air Fest and Labor Day Weekend Celebration is the town favorite, with a long lineup of fun events for the whole family. In the morning enjoy the hot air balloons and visit the Bob Adams Airport to celebrate the anniversary of the historic air field. Kids get to enjoy airplane and helicopter rides, a vintage aircraft fly-in, 25 planes on display, and radio controlled shows.
In addition, the Great American Wild West Show performs two times over the course of the weekend. This extremely fast show showcases the top western entertainers in the nation, along with excellent music and lighting. This event is perfect for the family and is something you shouldn't miss! The festivities also include a performance by the Westernaires. This is a mounted precision drill team made up of young people between the ages of 9 and 19. The Westernaires were formed in 1949 to provide training in western riding, precision drills, and horse care, and it still going strong today.
