Hot Air Balloon Festival
Imagine the view as you soar high above town and the mountains around Steamboat! The Hot Air Balloon Festival is a traditional highlight. It is a spectacular early-morning affair with over 40 hot air balloons rising softly from the mist and drifting over the valley. The splash of color pitted against Steamboat's grassy mountains makes the Hot Air Balloon Festival popular with photographers, producing numerous shots that are duplicated around town. The festival sets each balloonist's piloting skill against pre-designated obstacles. more info
Admission and parking are free for the Saturday and Sunday morning balloon events. There will be vendors selling souvenirs, coffee and breakfast items on the Meadows launch field. Everyone is encouraged to come to the launch field to take pictures and watch the pilots prepare for take off!
Location:
The launch field is located at the Village at Steamboat condominium complex. To get there, take Mt. Werner Drive to Pine Grove Road, turn right and head east to the launch field at the Village at Steamboat condominium complex. It is across the street from the Tennis Bubble and Meadows Parking Lot.
