Stagecoach State Park is wonderful active fun for the whole family. The Elk Run Trail and the Wetlands Trail provide great opportunities for nature observation and recreation. Wildlife and Hunting
Elk, mule deer, badger, raccoon, muskrat, squirrels and chipmunks inhabit the area. A large variety if birds are found in the park, including sage grouse, hawks, eagles, various songbirds, pelicans and waterfowl.
Fishing
The reservoir is known for its fast growing hard fighting rainbows and the occasional brown or brook trout and Snake River cutthroat. The reservoir also has northern pike and kokanee salmon.
Camping
The park's Junction City, Pinnacle, Harding Spur and McKindley campgrounds have a total of 92 campsites which can accommodate tents, campers or trailers.
Picnicking
Picnicking is popular at the park and facilities are located at the South Shore boat ramp, Arrowhead, Keystone and Haybro picnic areas. Each site has a picnic table and standing grill.
Winter Recreation
During the winter, visitors can enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Snowmobiles are allowed only below high water mark and only for fishing access.
