The Rabbit Ears Range reaches an elevation of about 11,000 ft. It is a mountain range that is part of the Rocky Mountain range located in north central Colorado. The range goes east-west on the continental divide along the border between Grand county and Jackson county.
Along the continental divide the Rabbit Ears Mountain Range is one of the lowest sections of the range. It connects the Front Range on the east with the Park Gore Range on the west. It is accessible at Willow Creek Pass.
The Rabbit Ears Peaks are one of the state's most noticeable landmarks. They are essentially two volcanic plugs that have eroded so much that they have become 100-foot high pinnacles. Rabbit Ears Pass has high mountain meadows and lush forests containing aspen and spruce. In the summer this area is especially beautiful because of the wildflowers in bloom. North of Rabbit Ears Pass you'll find Buffalo Pass, which has several lakes located in between. Here you can go fishing, hiking, or just sit and admire the mountain scenery.
The Rabbit Ears Pass and Buffalo Pass areas offer visitors six campgrounds.
You can reach the mountain biking trails either from Rabbit Ears Pass or Buffalo Pass.
