Gore Mountain Range
The Gore Mountain Range in Colorado is located in the Eagles Nest Wilderness north of Vail. The area doesn't cover a very large expanse of land, but there are tons of activities to enjoy, such as hiking, climbing, and more.
The Gore Mountain Range is located near Steamboat Springs. It is a beautiful range you have to see in person to truly appreciate. Behind the high walls of the mountains are crystal-clear lakes, flowing creeks, and flora. This is probably the most stunning destination in Colorado, however, it is a bit of a trek to reach the solitary spots.
The Gore Range is quite different from other mountainous terrain in Colorado. This is because the range is unique as far as geology is concerned. In the first place, the mountains have a character all their own. The majority of the peaks are made up of high points bordering steep ridges - if you enjoy ridge running and traversing this is the best place to visit.
Plus, the mountains are packed densely so it takes a long time to get used to the terrain. Only a few of the summits have been given names. In the central valleys the vegetation is greener than in most of Colorado.
